Happy 12th Birthday Ava Phillippe!

Name: Ava Elizabeth Phillippe

Date of Birth: September 9, 1999

Parents: Reese Witherspoon & Ryan Phillippe

Siblings: Deacon Reese (10/23/03)

Facts:

  • Ava arrived just one day before her daddy Ryan’s 25th birthday
  • She loves animals — and has a pet dog, as well as a pet pig called Booker T. Washington
  • She and her little brother Deacon both play Little League baseball

Quotes:
“I know it’s corny, but being a parent to me is such a great privilege; that I get to chaperone these beautiful little souls through life. They astound me with their knowledge and their humor. Parenthood is not at all what I expected it to be. I thought you make little people in your image. But they are just nothing like me or their father [her ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe]. They are their own individuals.” – Reese, on how motherhood still surprises her.

“My daughter’s name is Ava… [like] Ava Gardner, because to me she was the only woman who could break Sinatra. So the idea of that name to me is very classy and strong.” – Ryan, on his daughter’s name.

“I worry about my kids growing up and how the world might hurt them. But at the same time, I absolutely do not worry about them growing up –- because they have great values and a great sense of self.” – Reese, on her children getting older.

  1. I feel so old.
I remember when she was a chubby little thing with super blonde hair that Reese carried around while shooting Legally Blonde.
She turned out so beautiful and seems to be a very smart little girl.

    Happy Birthday, Ava!

  2. My little sister just turned 9 but my sister Rebecca could be Ava’s twin, they look so much alike, even the glasses and tallness 🙂
