Friends of Scott Foundation’s 6th Annual ‘Unforgettable Prom’ gave teens with cancer a night to remember on Friday (March 30) at The San Diego Hall of Champions.
Unforgettable Prom is the only event dedicated to giving local teens battling cancer an evening of prom-themed fun and excitement. This year’s theme, Dreams Do Come True 2012, treated girls and boys to formal wear and hair and makeup services, as well as styling by expectant celebrity stylist Anya Sarre, followed by an evening of music, dancing, games, food, and of course, limos and corsages.
“I was honored to have the opportunity to get to style The Friends of Scott kids for their prom,” Anya tells Celebrity Baby Scoop. “It was such a great day and being able to help
give them their red carpet moment was priceless!”
The Head Fashion Stylist for Entertainment Tonight and The Insider is expecting her first child this summer with husband Tim.
My pregnancy is going so quick, I can’t believe it is almost over,” she tells Celebrity Baby Scoop. “I have been doing pre-pregnancy Pilates and taking walks on the beach, yet I keep getting bigger everyday,” she adds.
And how has the fashionista been dressing her baby bump?
“I have been living in my AZIAM yoga pants, DVF and Halston dresses and tons of stretchy Missoni,” Anya tells us. “Style Tip: Throw on some long layered necklaces
to elongate your bump,” she shares.
She says they’re planning for a surprise delivery this summer.
We decided to wait to find out if we are having a boy or a girl,” Anya shares. “It is very exciting, but the suspense is killing me! I am doing everything neutral-nautical chic (navy, white and yellow). I can’t wait for this magical surprise,” she says.
Unforgettable Prom is coordinated by The Friends of Scott Foundation, along with the support of The Drew Brees Foundation, Southwest Airlines and the San Diego Hall of Champions. The event is also made possible thanks to generous participation and donations from local merchants and services including Anya Sarre – Stylist, Emerald City Limousine, Xtreme Fun, Robert Zakar, Cinderella’s Attic, Friar Tux, La Mesa Florist, and Rico’s on Third, Model Call and Model Call Salon.
The Friends of Scott Foundation was founded nine years ago by friends of 14-year-old Scott Delgadillo, after he died of leukemia. Now the grassroots organization is thriving, dedicated to meeting the daily needs of families of children with cancer by offering education, social support and financial aid. Friends of Scott volunteers visit Rady Children’s Hospital to comfort and guide parents, read to sick children, and distribute grocery and gas gift cards to families in need.
