New York Congressman Anthony Weiner, 47, and wife Huma Abedin, 35, were photographed with son Jordan, nearly 4 months, in New York City on Wednesday (April 18). The family-of-three were spotted heading to the supermarket for some quick grocery shopping.
While his online naughty behavior has been exposed, it seems there’s more to report about Weiner!
A new book called Do Not Ask What Good We Do: Inside the US House of Representatives does not paint a flattering picture of the disgraced politician.
Journalist Robert Draper states that Weiner was not only obnoxious in front of his staff and desperate for full frontal media exposure, but also tried to tell President Barack Obama how to do his job, New York Post reports. The book, which hits shelves on Tuesday, states:
“In September 2009, after spending a day with Obama in New York to promote a financial-reform bill, Weiner hitched a ride back to Washington on the president’s private plane — and, being Weiner, couldn’t resist giving the leader of the free world some advice on how to achieve health reform. ‘Mr. President, I think you’re looking at this entirely the wrong way,’ he said. ‘You need to simplify it. Just say that what we’re doing is gradually expanding Medicare.’”
The president’s response?
“‘Well,’ [Obama] said with a grin after their conversation, ‘Enjoy your last ride on Air Force One.’”
Allegedly, he also wanted nothing more than to be on television. The book says Weiner “would enter his office in the Rayburn Building screaming at the top of his lungs, ‘Why the f–k am I not on MSNBC?!’”
During the online scandal, it was announced that Weiner and his wife of a year were expecting their first child. Despite the revelations, Abedin stood by her man.
