Fitness expert Jillian Michaels was spotted toting her 2-year old daughter, Lukensia, back to the car after the pair stopped for a quick drink at Starbucks Coffee in Malibu, Calif. on Friday (June 1).
The new mom-of-two – whose partner Heidi Rhoades delivered their son Phoenix earlier this month – apppears to be adjusting well to motherhood.
The former Biggest Loser trainer opened up to Ladies Home Journal about her first few experiences with Lukensia when they were still in Haiti.
I was nervous the first time I stayed with [Lukensia] because you don’t have a nanny, you don’t have someone with you, it’s you at the guesthouse and they show you where the food is and say, “Good luck, here’s your kid!” You’re there 24/7, there’s no handing the kid off to take a shower, so I was sort of thrown into the fire. And she doesn’t speak English, obviously, and her Creole is not great because the babies don’t get a ton of time with people speaking directly to them, so we would use hand gestures and eye contact, and it was like we had this understanding. It was great because we came through it and I was like, “You know what, kid? We’re going to be okay.”
