Kerri Strug Welcomes Baby No. 1: Tyler William

It’s a boy for Olympic gold medalist Kerri Strug and her husband Robert Fisher III!

The proud new parents welcomed son Tyler William Fisher on March 1st, PEOPLE confirms.

Kerri commented on her experience of becoming a first time mother.

It’s kind of like my gymnastics training when people said, ‘Dreams do come true, anything’s possible.’ You hear these things and you really want to believe them, but you don’t quite get it until you go through it. And it’s the same with Tyler. I understand it now, the immediate love.”

Baby Tyler weighed 7 lbs. and 1 oz. at birth and is the first child for both Kerri and her husband.

Congrats to the happy family!

  1. Congratulations to this fine Olympian and her husband, although I admit to being disappointed that with a newborn she is unlikely to be an NBC gymnastics commentator at the upcoming summer Olympics.
