It was a first birthday bash to remember for proud parents Autumn Reeser and husband Jesse Warren! The couple celebrated son Finn‘s first year with a vintage travel-themed party on May 12 in Los Angeles, Calif.
“The year birthday is such a milestone not only for the birthday baby, but also for mama, who’s celebrating making it through that difficult first year,” Autumn, 31, tells Celebrity Baby Scoop. “I definitely toasted to our mutual success with a mimosa!”
Guests including 20 children and 60 adults enjoyed the unique travel decor including antique world maps, vintage postcards, vintage luggage and hanging airplane gliders.
Finn had been on 24 flights at the time he turned one,” Autumn says, and add, “He travels with me and my husband when we work, so a travel-themed first party seemed like a natural fit! My husband had the idea to have 24 balloons in the entryway to commemorate each flight.”
And it’s all thanks to party planner Ashley Fauset.
“I’ve been filming a movie in Vancouver, and we just came back to LA for 24 hours to celebrate Finn’s birthday with family & friends,” Autumn says. “There’s no way I could have done it without Ashley and my girlfriends, who not only took care of everything from set-up to food & drinks but also stayed after to clean up, since I had to leave for the airport only an hour after the party!”
There were plenty of fun activities for the kids, with Polaroid snapshots placed in passport sticker books that were decorated and made into paper airplanes.
Guests noshed on snacks catered by Leslie Durso, including a brightly-colored salad, decorative fruit plates, chocolate cupcakes, and animal crackers with juice courtesy of a vintage bar cart.
And what a stylish birthday boy! Mom dressed Finn in glitter Toms and the gingham cargo pants were from BabyGap. “For his shirt, I layered two super-soft long-sleeve tees from The Little Seed, and used iron-on decals from Sukie to say ‘ONE’ on the pale blue tee,” Autumn shares.
Next up for the family-of-three?
“Our family is moving to Oahu this year while I shoot a new tv series, Last Resort, which will air on ABC this fall,” Autumn says.
