Tom Cruise and his children, Suri, 6, and Connor, 17 were seen leaving their hotel in New York City on Tuesday (June 12). They were heading off to attend the Friars Club Roast at the Waldorf-Astoria. At the event Tom received the Friars Club Entertainment Icon Award.
It was a busy day for Suri. Earlier in the day – with the help of bodyguards – she went to visit her dad on the set of Oblivion.
On the red carpet before the Friars Club event – the Rock of Ages star said he was amazed that his career is still going strong.
“I was hoping. After my first film I remember thinking I just wanted the opportunity to do it again. And I didn’t know whether I was going to have it again and so to be doing this now; it’s kind of amazing to me.”
The Huffington Post reports that Cruise told the crowd during his acceptance speech that Katie Holmes was out of the country and that Suri not only got to stay up late – but was there to take in an R-rated tribute in keeping with the Friars tradition of blue humor.
