Solange Knowles’ Big Apple Buddy

Single mom Solange Knowles and her 7-year-old son Daniel posed for pics as they arrived for the Stella McCartney 2013 Spring Presentation Carnival Party in New York City on Monday (June 11).

In response to some online criticism about her current hairdo, the singer tweeted, “My hair is not very important to me…so I don’t encourage it to be important to you.”

Beyoncé‘s little sister was seen at the party in NYC last night! The high-profile guest-list dinner was held at Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick’s deluxe apartment in Manhattan in aid of raising funds for Barack Obama‘s re-election campaign.

The President made a rare joint appearance with his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama, at the $40,000-per-plate event.

Daniel’s father is Solange’s ex-husband, Daniel Smith, whom she wed when she was 17 and he was 19.

  1. EXCELLENT come back Solange!!! I think your hair is fabulous. And Julez’s tendrels are almost as beautiful as his baby blue eyes. What a gorgeous mommie/son duo.

  2. Unfortunately, the Internet is full of shallow and superficial people with low self-esteem who focus only on appearances and make nasty comments. Great comeback and so so right!

  3. She seems so much more laid back than her sister. I am quite sure Beyonce’s hair/wig is very important to her. That being said I really like Solange’s outlook and loved her response to criticism. Very well done.

  4. Excuse me? What’s the problem with her hair exactly?
Her keeping her hair in it’s natural state is a problem now?? F that! Black women need to get over the crap that we are our hair. We are not our hair. Take care of it as needed but just cause it’s not straight doesn’t mean they are better. All that relaxing and braiding is extremely unhealthy for the scalp and edges so I’m glad to see a “black” celebrity taking proper care of her hair.
btw her son is so handsome! I can only hope blue ivy inherits the good looks of the knowles women!
