Alanis Morissette & Ever: Can’t Catch Me!

Look who’s on the run!

In our first glimpse of Ever walking, mom Alanis Morissette was seen chasing after her active 17-month-old tot in New York City on Monday (June 18). Papa Mario ‘Souleye’ Treadway was standing nearby with the baby backpack while chatting with a friend. It’s rare to see Ever on the go since he’s usually attached to mom, a self-proclaimed “attachment parent.”

In a recent interview, the Canadian singer said, “For me, I protect his safety and his well-being and his attachment. That stage of development is a very important stage.”

“The goal of attachment parenting is to provide your child with a deep sense of connectedness and bonding, while the goal of the exploration stage is to provide space for their utter freedom to express their authentic selves while being protected and kept safe,” Alanis recently shared. “This delicate blend will make for a securely attached, connected and authentically expressed child, who feels free, safe and protected.”

  1. I thought attachment parenting meant letting the child decide when it was time to separate from Mom? I don’t think she’s respecting his choice.
