Celebrities came out for the Farm Sanctuary benefit cocktail party held in Los Angeles, Calif. on Saturday (June 16). Special guests included Bones star Emily Deschanel and her husband, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘s David Hornsby, along with SNL alum Kevin Nealon, No Doubt’s Tony Kanal, and Castle star Seamus Dever.
At the event, new mom to 9-month-old son Henry, Emily Deschanel, discussed her plans to visit Farm Sanctuary’s new L.A. shelter. And Tony Kanal, dad to 9-month-old daughter Coco, talked about the support he gets from his No Doubt band mates, who have been ordering vegan meals with him while in the studio to record their new album, Push and Shove.
Emily told ET at the event, “My character [on Bones] was pregnant she’s the normal woman. She can take the time that it takes to lose the weight and I’m doing that myself.”
She added: “Yeah I haven’t lost all my weight yet hopefully I will eventually.”
The actress said she maintained a vegan diet throughout her first pregnancy and has done so for the past 19 years.
On being a new mom the actress said, “I love seeing his personality blossom.”
Farm Sanctuary is an organization combating the abuses of factory farming that encourages a new awareness and understanding about farm animals.
