Mark-Paul Gosselaar & Michael: Premiere Pals

NYPD Blue star Mark-Paul Gosselaar and his 8-year-old son Michael were seen arriving to the new Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Calif. on Monday (June 18) to enjoy the premiere of the new Pixar film Brave .

The 38-year-old Saved By The Bell alum – who rose to fame in the early ’90s for playing Zack Morris on the teen sitcom – had some fairly unkind words to say about the television series that jump started his career.

“It’s not a great show,” he tells the Los Angeles Times. “The writing is kind of hokey … it’s very much a piece of that time.”

  1. No, he was actually misquoted. He said he loves the show, but he didn’t love the writing. And he’s right, honestly. I love it, but the writing wasn’t always the greatest. (Even Rider Strong has mentioned he hasn’t liked some of the writing on Boy Meets World!)

Anyway, love Mark-Paul, his son is adorable, and Franklin and Bash was great tonight.
