Edie Falco & Macy: Scooter Ride In NYC

The Sopranos alum Edie Falco was photographed with her 4-year-old daughter Macy in New York City on Tuesday (September 25). The mother-daughter duo were seen going for a ride on an electric scooter in the Big Apple.

We recently spotted the actress, 49, looking glam at the Emmys. She was nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category for her role in Nurse Jackie.

Also mom to 7-year-old son Anderson, Edie recently opened up about balancing family and career.

“As a single mom, I’m juggling a lot and working long hours,” Edie said. “Yes, it costs them a little, but what my children get in return is a mother who is energized and content. It helps us to bring out the best in each other, which is what a family should do.”

  1. It’s kind of insane to ride a scooter in New York city by yourself. So, to take your 4 years old daughter along for the ride is ridiculous!

    • I knew people were going to freak out about this photo.

Crossing the street in NYC is dangerous too and so are taxi cabs without car seats but people do it all the time! I commend Edie for living life and letting her child experience things like riding on a scooter rather than giving in to the fear based mothering that seems pervasive today. The scooter was most likely going slower than a bicycle!

If you want to raise your child in a padded room go for it, but don’t judge those who choose to raise their children with a little more freedom.

    • I think I’d be more worried about her wearing a bicycle helmet that doesn’t offer a ton of protection in a big crash than being on a scooter with her own mother.

  2. I personally would never ride around NYC with my small child on a scooter. That is me. Edie can do what she wants, HOWEVER, I find it strange that she and child are tied together. Is that recommended I wonder???
On another note, IRONICALLY I saw a taxi clip a scooter and knock person off this morning on my way to work.
Also, rules in NYC are very clear about children on scooters and Edie is violating them by not having her small child (under age 6) on scooter without a separate seat.

  3. To be clear – it’s actually a moped. if you look at the last pic you can see she is pedaling bike pedals…
ok – let the mommy judging continue.
