Nick Cannon: “I Want My Kids To Grow Up Helping Others”

His 1-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe – aka Roc and Roe – enjoy a luxurious lifestyle, but Nick Cannon says he wants them to be aware of just how lucky they are.

“I want my kids to understand that every child isn’t as fortunate as they are,” the America’s Got Talent host tells People. “I want [them] to grow up helping others. I was raised by my grandmother. We were low-income, but she was always taking in foster kids. She would help anyone, and it was a good lesson for me growing up.”

The doting dad is leading by example: He had the kids in tow as he headed to Florida on Friday to host the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals‘ Awards Dinner.

“I really believe in this charity, in this event,” says Nick, who is married to American Idol judge Mariah Carey. “It’s our duty to help kids who need it.”

  1. Dem Babies aint finna help no po’ folks! Lol just kidding, had to. They are incredible cute and Nick will instill a good sense of humility in them I think.. Just assuming from how humble he is.

  2. @Doesn’tmatter have you seen any of the charity work Mariah does you’re pretty daft to assume she’s a greedy ingreat. the twins are adorable and plenty of celebrity kids are involved in philanthropic work from the example of their parents
