Anna & Josh Duggar Expecting Baby No. 4

Congratulations are in order for Anna and Josh Duggar.

The eldest son of the Duggar family, 26, and his wife, also 26, are expecting their fourth child, they announced via Twitter Tuesday.

“We are so excited to announce… we’re pregnant! #4andCounting #BlessingfromTheLord @joshduggar #19Kids,” the expectant mom wrote.

The couple – who were wed in September 2008 – seem to be following in the footsteps of Josh’s famously conservative parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. While Josh and his 18 siblings all have names that begin with the letter “J,” he and his wife are using the letter “M” for their growing brood.

The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Mackynzie Renée, in October 2009, and their sons Michael James in June 2011 and Marcus Anthony in June 2013.

In a new video for TLC, the couple announce their pregnancy news alongside their three young kids.

“This time of the year, there’s so many things we’re thankful for,” Josh says. “From my sisters getting proposed to and married, to all the fans who are watching at home.”

Anna then chimed in, saying, “One of the things we’re really thankful for this season, is that we’re expecting!” She went on to say that she is nine weeks pregnant, a few months behind her sister-in-law Jill Duggar, who announced her own pregnancy news this past August.

“I’m having a lot of morning sickness so it is difficult, but it’s good because I know good things are happening,” the expectant mom continued. “After Ben and Jessa’s wedding, we were still visiting with the family in Arkansas, and that was really exciting to get to share with the family the exciting news.”

  1. Well they have only her parents to set the example for them. I can’t stand these people. Just keep them pregnant & hope the gravy train doesn’t stop. I wonder if by the time you get to 19 babies do they just walk out or fall out?

  2. If 19 Kids and Counting is cancelled, how does Josh figure on clothing and feeding the 20 or so children they’ll probably have? He looks like he never misses a meal. It would be so funny if one of the hoard turned out to be gay or trans-gender. I wonder how they would handle it, not in a good way probably.

    • I always find it odd how people who don’t like the Duggars are always wishing a gay child on them, as if it’s some sort of punishment to be inflicted. Your own bias is showing.

      • I don’t see where they are wishing a gay child on them. I see where they simply asked how one of the Duggars might handle having a gay child. I also don’t think it has anything to do with whether you like the family or not. This family has made it obviously clear how they feel about someone being gay and whether or not it is a choice. It would be interesting to see how they would handle it if that someone was their own flesh and blood.

  3. Unfortunately I do watch this show. It is a guilty pleasure of mine. Even though I find their beliefs incredibly offensive, not only to the LGBT community, but to women in general.

Anyway, in a recent episode, Anna had mentioned that she thinks it’s easy for women (most likely women in her religious community since they don’t really socialize with people who don’t follow their beliefs) to only feel validated as a woman when they’re pregnant and she’s trying not to fall into that trap. However, I think she’s failing cuz she talked about wanting another baby relentlessly to the point where it was clear that Josh was trying so hard not to roll his eyes.

She’s basically Michelle II. Once the youngest starts walking (or even crawling) it’s…”give this baby to the older sibling/”buddy” cuz I only care about babies, babies, babies, give me another baby” …seriously Michelle takes little to no interest in her kids lives as they grow. Sad to see that Anna is following in her footsteps.

    • I’ve never seen the show before. It sounds like watching it might be kind of like passing a car accident…terrible to watch but you just can’t look away?

Anyway, hearing what you and others have had to say just makes me shake my head. I know everyone is entitled to their own beliefs but they seriously set women back about 50+ years.
