CBS: Tell us all about your baby shower. Did you have a theme? What were some of the highlights?
JK: “Our baby shower was incredibly gorgeous. We were insanely blessed to have so many of our friends and family around us. Our theme was chic and classy. Our colors were lavender and gray and white. I would say the highlights were for sure Ivey cupcakes and the fact that USANA sponsored us. I take their prenatals so it was nice to have it go full circle. We are grateful to Good Carma Studio for helping throw a fun and sweet party that we will always remember.”
CBS: Did you receive any sentimental gifts at your baby shower?
JK: “My friend Dre got me this cake cutter. It’s for her first birthday and the day she gets married. The poem that goes along with the knife had me in tears. I also received a gorgeous “Mama Mala” from Tiny Devotions, a line of spiritual jewelry.”
CBS: How is your pregnancy going? How have you been feeling? Any cravings? How are you staying healthy during your pregnancy?
JK: “I’ve had a rough pregnancy. I’m still nauseous and I recently just stopped throwing up. It’s been really frustrating, but I’m on the last trimester so it’s almost done. I haven’t really had any cravings. Just been eating a lot of baked potatoes and pop tarts in the middle of the night to keep me from getting sick. I have a great trainer Erin Oprea that has been keeping me in shape and I’m very thankful for her for pushing me when I haven’t wanted to work out. I really feel better when I’m done.”
CBS: Do you have a baby name picked out for your daughter? Has it been a tough decision for you and Michael to choose a name?
JK: “We chose our baby name, like, the same month we met. We are crazy, but the name has stuck and it’s not changing. Things are embroidered.”
CBSL Are you feeling prepared for baby? Do you have a birth plan? Are you hoping for a natural birth? Or are you having a schedule C-section?
JK: “Michael and I are taking some baby classes in December to get a little more ready and I’m definitely not having a natural birth. I have so much respect for women that can do that, but I will be begging for an epidural. And I have no clue what we are going to do, whether it’s a C-section or not. Our little girl has her plan so I’m going to try to not control it too much.”
