Grammy Award-winning singer Céline Dion posted a rare family photo Thursday.
“Holiday memories! Now time to get back to work!” the Power of Love hitmaker, 48, Instagrammed the image sitting in front of the Christmas tree with her three sons: René-Charles, 15, and 6-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy.
This is the first Christmas for Dion and the boys since their father René Angélil‘s death in Jan. 2016.
“My kids are doing great, so I’m doing great — and if I’m doing great then my kids are doing well,” the Canadian singer recently shared.
She added: “It’s all about feeling very strong and positive. They sense it. They sense that mom is okay. They know what’s going on. They know that dad is not coming back. They know that they have to live with him, but differently.”
For the soulful singer, it’s all about cherishing the memories and learning to cope with his death.
“To see [my husband] suffer so much was very, very difficult for everyone,” she said. “I look at my children and I see him through their eyes. I tell them that dad is not gone. He lives within us. He’s in our heart.”
The My Heart Will Go On hitmaker has been very open and communicative with her sons.
“‘Papa is not coming back,’” Dion told the twins. “‘Once you go up, there is no boo-boo. Papa is talking, he’s eating, he’s having a good time but he’s in our heart. He’s watching down.’”
One night, Dion saw Eddy kissing a photograph of his father goodnight and she’s turned it into a nightly ritual.
“I have to tell you that I feel very strong because my husband had given all of us wonderful luggage,” Dion said. “I lost the man of my life. But I cannot live thinking this way. I have to say, ‘I found the best man in the world.’ ”
