Congratulations are in order for Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter.
The Sherlock star, 40, and his director-playwright wife, 39, welcomed their second child – son Hal Auden Cumberbatch – on March 3, PEOPLE reports.
Hal joins big brother, 20-month-old Christopher “Kit” Carlton.
The Imitation Game actor and his wife announced their second pregnancy in October, when Hunter debuted her barely there baby bump at the L.A. premiere of Doctor Strange.
“Everyone is absolutely excited,” Cumberbatch’s rep said at the time.
The pair were wed in a private wedding ceremony on Valentine’s Day 2015, on the Isle of Wright in England.
The actor recently opened up about the joys of fatherhood.
“Having a baby—it’s massive. And on a very unexpected level,” Cumberbatch said. “Suddenly I understood my parents much more profoundly than I ever had before. I was expecting, with Hamlet, that it might be a hindrance to be a father, because it’s all about being a son. But it’s the opposite. You understand much more about being a son, becoming a father.”
Congratulations to them!
