Red carpet debut!
Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband, Ferris Bueller’s Day off star Matthew Broderick, rocked the red carpet with their three children – son James Wilkie, 14, and 7-year-old twin daughters Loretta (pink coat) and Tabitha – at the opening night of Broadway’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in New York City on Sunday, April 23.
This marks the family’s debut red carpet appearance all together. As well, this is the first time we’ve seen the twins at a public event.
The twins looked adorable in color-coordinating coats, while their fashion icon mama, 52, opted for a glittering green blazer paired with a black floral-printed dress. Broderick, 55, looked dapper in a navy suit, and James was stylish in a gray-and-white plaid button down with a black skinny tie.
Before her eldest turned 14, the Divorce star opened up about the joys of motherhood.
“I have an almost-14-year-old, so what I should and shouldn’t do for James Wilkie is a question,” SJP said. “Like, at what point do I let him lose something? When do I say, ‘You gotta lose it in order to understand how to even cope? How are you going to develop your coping mechanisms if I’m fixing?’ When does a parent let go? When do you let go in a relationship? So I think I learned a lot about it. You don’t know you’re learning about it when you’re in it — you’re just in the day-to-day, caring about someone and loving them, and hopefully keeping them safe.”
