New dad George Clooney, made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday and dished on family life with wife Amal Clooney and their 4-month-old twins Ella and Alexander.

“Listen, I’m scared to death, it’s terrifying,” he said of being a first-time dad, adding, “You’re afraid of breaking them. They’re so little.”

The Suburbicon director and his human rights lawyer wife welcomed their twins in June, and, since then, the Academy Award-winner has taken on diaper duty.

“[It’s] like cleaning up your dog’s poop,” he joked of his ongoing task.

And it sounds like the job has gotten even dirtier these days.

“Then we introduced the children to solid food on Friday. How that goes in as a carrot and how that comes out the way it comes out is shocking,” Clooney shared. “I don’t know what’s going from here to here. What happens?”

The actor, 56, recently opened up about being a nervous first-time father.

“A lot of things make me nervous now with kids,” he shared. “What you want from your children is you want to make sure that they are compassionate and that they pay attention to the rest of the world.”

He added: “They are going to be born into a life that, in some ways, is going to be very hectic […] But, they’re also going to be born into a place of privilege and so they’re going to have to learn that [it’s] just by accident. And everything else is – you just have to pay attention to people.”

“I’m so excited,” he also said of becoming a dad. “[I was surprised] how much I thought I had in control and how little control I actually have. I have none! I think everybody quickly realizes that.”

And it sounds like his daughter is beautiful just like mama.

“My daughter looks exactly like Amal,” he shared. “She has big beautiful eyes … It’s incredible.”

Suburbicon — a dark comedy about a white suburban town that’s rocked with racial tension when an African-American family moves in — is set to hit theaters on Oct. 27.
