‘A Bad Moms Christmas’ CoStars Share Breast-Pumping Story

During a Friday appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, A Bad Moms Christmas costars Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn dished on their movie-making process.

While doing a cross-country table read, Bell, 37, didn’t know that she was going to be projected on a 200-inch screen when she Skyped with her costars, so she decided to pump some breast milk at the same time.

“Kristen Bell is on a giant screen Skyped in. And as we’re reading the script you just see her face just getting closer and closer into the screen and the rest of her body is getting out of the screen,” Kunis, 34, recalled the funny story.

Bell said a “heads up” would have been appreciated.

“I didn’t know I was on a movie projector. I would have loved the heads up,” Bell shared. “I thought it was like, ‘We’re gonna Skype in and be on a computer!’ And I was home because I wasn’t going early because I still had a little one and I needed to pump. I’m sorry, when you gotta do it you gotta do it. And I thought, ‘They’re not going to care. Also it’s not going to be very loud.’”

She added: “I didn’t realize I was on a 200-inch screen on speakers in a conference room. I thought it was someone’s computer.”

Hahn, 44, joked, “There is no mistaking that sound.”

The actress’ went on to take questions from the audience. One audience member, Ayesha Dixon, told her touching story.

“I’m a single mom, and it’s been difficult. As much as I like to give back, I don’t have much to give, but I try to volunteer,” she shared. “I always know that there’s someone who’s worse off than I am….For me and my daughter, you know, as long as our bellies are full and I have a roof over my head, it’s been just amazing.”

As it turns out, DeGeneres and her crew had some surprises up their sleeves. After hearing her story, Kunis wanted to give Dixon a gift as well.

“Our movie is all about celebrating moms and celebrating how hard it is to be a mom. So, we just wanted to help you out a little bit because you’re an awesome mom and you’re an awesome mom,” Kunis said to Dixon and her mother. “So, for you guys, don’t peek. It’s no big deal.”

At that point, Kunis — mom to daughter Wyatt, 3, and 10-month-old son Dimitri with husband Ashton Kutcher — reached behind the couch and pulled out a Christmas stocking filled with $25,000.

But Bell didn’t think the gesture was enough. The Frozen star — who is mom to daughters Lincoln, 4, and Delta, 2, with husband Dax Shepard — wanted to help with holiday presents and gave Dixon another stocking filled with $25,000.

Then Hahn — mom to son Leonard, 11, and daughter Mae, 8, with husband Ethan Sandler — made another generous contribution.

“I’m sorry you guys. I do not mean to be a downer, but I’m feeling a little bit left out at the moment,” Hahn said and proceeded to give Dixon a third $25,000 stocking.

“Oh my God. You guys are good moms,” Dixon said.

DeGeneres then wanted to add to the $75,000.

“Wait, this is my show and how dare you?” she joked. “So, I also want to give you $25,000.”

The Bad Moms sequel, A Bad Moms Christmas, hits theaters on November 1.
