Maria Menounos, 39, had a whirlwind 2017 filled with the highest of highs and lowest of lows. She’s come out on top and looking into 2018, babies are “on the brain” for the TV personality.
After getting engaged to her longtime boyfriend Keven Undergaro, 51, the natural next step for Menounos was to plan a wedding and start thinking about having a family. But, after suddenly being diagnosed with a benign brain tumor, wedding and baby planning was put to the sidelines.
Menounos was immediately scheduled for surgery and thankfully the tumor was removed successfully. Since the ordeal, Maria stepped down from her demanding work schedule from the E! Network and has focused on healing herself.
Then the TV host ended 2017 on a high note, successfully pulling off a secret stunt. While stepping in as co-host on the Fox Network New Year’s Eve celebration bash, she married her beau of 20 years on national TV.
Now the pair, ready to start a family of their own, but have their concerns if its smart for Maria to physically put her body through a pregnancy. Maria still has to go periodically go in and check that the tumor hasn’t returned.

Keven and Maria had started the IVF process right before Maria discovered she had a brain tumor so now the couple is ready to pick up where they left off and see what their options are now, “I need to work with to see if getting pregnant is the smartest thing,” Maria said. “I do have some kids in the freezer, maybe we’ll implant. But if not, we’ll look into surrogacy.”
Menounos goes on to add, “I really believe that God has a plan. If I’m supposed to have a baby, it’s going to happen. If not, maybe God is protecting me from this tumor growing.”
Her biggest support system through this whole process has been Keven and he ultimately wants Maria to be out of harm’s way, “We definitely want children, but I’m very concerned about her going through a pregnancy, and I would like to explore using a surrogate because her body has been through hell. I want a baby desperately, but I don’t want it to be at the risk of her health.”
Maria is keeping her work schedule light, only doing special projects. The couple is going to start exploring their options this month.
