Hugh Grant, the erstwhile romantic comedy leading man, is going to be a father again for the fifth time. The 57-year-old and his girlfriend Anna Eberstein, 35, walked the red carpet at the Golden Globes when Anna was spotted rocking a baby bump.
This will be Eberstein and the Love Actually actor’s third child together. They already share their son John Mungo, 5, and they welcomed a second child in December 2015.
Grant is also a father to Tabitha, 6, and Felix, 4, with his ex Tinglan Hong.
Anna’s mother Susanne made a statement about the good news saying, ‘Yes, I’m very happy to be getting another grandchild. She’s due rather soon.’
If you could imagine what kind of father Hugh is to his children a jokester might come to mind and you’re spot on. In a recent interview, Hugh let us in on his fathering technique’s and it will make you laugh:
‘I think it’s always amusing to put your underpants on your head.’ He goes on to explain, ‘My little girl, too, likes nappies on my head.’
And being a jokester father comes with some consequences, Hugh recently found out, ‘I made the mistake of showing one of my sons my ass all the time. Hey look at this! Then he taught every single child in West London to do the same.’
Jokes aside Hugh gets serious about how fatherhood has changed him, ‘The nicest thing that’s ever happened to me. It’s just lovely to have all that love around. Suddenly you love someone more than yourself. It’s unheard of in my case. And they love you, and it’s all enchanting.”
Since becoming a father the actor’s priorities have changed, he goes on to comment, ‘I have 400 children and so many other things in my life. What’s nice is when work comes along, it tends to be a bit more challenging. I’m too old and ugly to be the young leading man in romantic comedies now, thank God.’
Fatherhood suits you, Hugh!
