Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo just announced the great news that they have welcomed their second daughter into the world!
The baby girl’s first name quite unusual. Her parents are the first celebrity couple to choose it for their child. A rep for Adam Levine confirmed that the Maroon 5 frontman now has brand new, bouncing, baby girl to love.
As reported by People Magazine, Levine, 38-years-old, is now outnumbered three-to-one when his supermodel wife, Behati Prinsloo, gave birth to a second girl.
So far, the only detail that Levine’s rep has was the name, Gio Grace Levine. According to Nameberry, a database of celebrity baby names, Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo seem to be the only celebrity couple to name their child Gio. However, there are a few celebrity kids with the name Gia; Matt Damon’s 9-year-old daughter, and Extra host Mario Lopez’s daughter.
The couple has not yet revealed why they chose a masculine moniker for their little girl, and they have not released a photo of the newborn.
However, according to Adam, coming up with a name for his oldest child was quite difficult. But luckily for Dusty and Gio’s musician father, he has a famous friend who is happy to help him and Behati Prinsloo name their children.
As reported by E! News, Adam enlisted the aid of Ellen DeGeneres when he and Behati were trying to come up with a name for their first daughter.
During a 2016 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Adam told the story about how he queried Ellen for her opinion after picking out what he thought was the absolute perfect name for his baby girl. According to the Levine, brutally honest Ellen told him that she absolutely hated the “terrible name." She even went so far as to provide him with five different options, and Dusty was on that list. Adam immediately welcomed the suggestion. The rest, as they say, is history.
To date, Ellen DeGeneres has not conceded whether she had any influence naming little Gio Grace Levine. Interestingly enough, just after Adam Levine announced that he and Behati Prinsloo were with child, he hinted to Ellen that she was going to have a role in the baby naming process. “Like it or not, you’re going to be involved with this next one, too," he said.
