Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth are officially parents!
Gideon Martyn Forsyth arrived February 23, 2018. He was born at 3:39 p.m., measuring 22 inches long and weighing 10lbs., 3oz.
The couple exclusively told People, “We are blessed beyond measure with the arrival of our son, Gideon Martyn Forsyth. Looking at our child for the first time was such an incredible moment! God is good, and we are so thankful.”
Joy-Anna, 20, and Austin, 24, met at Joy-Anna’s church in Arkansas. After 15 years of friendship, the Duggar girl announced she had entered a romance with Austin on a special episode of Counting On: Jinger’s wedding.
After a short-lived 3-month engagement the couple married in May at Cross Church in Rogers, Arkansas. Fans got to later witness the couple taking their vows on a special 2-hour episode of their TLC show Counting On.
After tying the knot the newlyweds traveled to Geneva, Switzerland for their honeymoon.
In August, the two announced they were expecting their first child together.
“We’re so happy and thankful to announce that we’re expecting a baby! Every child is such a precious gift from God. I’m most looking forward to watching Austin as a dad and raising children together with him.” Joy-Anna said in a statement at the time of revealing the exciting news.
The couple shared just a short week before welcoming Gideon on their social media that they were car shopping, perhaps looking for something bigger for their growing family? The two reported they didn’t find anything at the auto auction but the two looked in great spirits, especially Joy-Anna who was nearing her due date.
The couple has received criticism since they announced they were expecting. Fans have questioned the timeline of when the pair got married and when they conceived. Joy-Anna and Austin follow a strict religious faith that bans pre-martial sex and some people have accused them of having sex before they got married.
What matters now is that Joy-Anna and Gideon are healthy and happy. Congrats!
