Jessica Simpson Says My Kids ‘Teach Me So Much About Life’
Jessica Simpson had a chance to wax nostalgic about her kids and what they have added to her life. The 37-year-old fashion designer spoke to Us Weekly at the 40th Annual Outstanding Mother Awards in New York City that she attended on May 11.
Mother to daughter Maxwell, 6, and Ace, 4, Simpson admitted, “Being a mother is the best opportunity and challenge I’ve ever been blessed with in life."
And she goes on to say that she is learning so much from her two kiddos, “Right now my kids are in this amazing stage where I’m really listening to them without judgment and they’re teaching me so much. These little innocent kids teach me so much about life."
The “I think I’m in Love With You” singer does admit she and her husband Eric Johnson, 38, do come from different approaches when it comes to raising their children. “Eric is more the disciplinarian. If my daughter asks for a dog, she gets one, and then Eric finds a way to make the dog not end up in the house.”
Her daughter Maxwell has inherited her mother’s voice and music gene. “She has a great voice," Simpson said. And Jessica revealed she would “absolutely" support her daughter if she wanted to pursue a career in music. “She’s pretty shy. Mom’s shy too, so you never know. You never know if you’re born an entertainer or not."
And by the looks of it, Jessica’s Mother’s Day was nothing but sweet. The mama posted a picture on her social media of some delicious sweet treats that Maxwell and Ace delivered to her on her special day. Spelling out with the help of some brightly frosted doughnuts the singer shared the decadent present that read “We Love You Mom! Maxi + Ace."
