Jenna Dewan has a Future Environmentalist on Her Hands: ‘I Think I’m Doing Something Right
Our sacred planet mama earth is getting some TLC from no other than Jenna Dewan’s daughter Everly. The 4-year-old daughter of actor Channing Tatum, 38, and Jenna Dewan is a budding environmentalist. So hide your plastic bags and styrofoam because this youngster is ready to whip this planet back in shape!
The World of Dance host attended the EMA Awards and Honors Benefit in Beverly Hills, California earlier in the week and revealed her daughter is ready to lead her generation in the crusade to save our planet.
The 37-year-old mother revealed, “We do a lot of things in nature. She goes to a lot of different camps where she is learning about nature, where she is with the trees, and we go on vacations, and we do trips within nature." She adds, “I think early to respect it is important."
One of the camps that Everly attends is a Fairy Camp. But, don’t think for a second that Fairy Camp is made up of making fairy dust potions. Dewan admitted that the first impression of the name sounds very ‘girly’ but it quite the opposite. “It’s actually very ‘Girl Scout-y’. They go into parks, and they learn all about how to be respectful of nature."
Everly also keeps her mom in check at home. “She’ll tell me, ‘Mommy you need to recycle that,’ or ‘Be careful, don’t disrespect nature!’ It starts young. She’s only 4 and she already has that instilled in her, so I think I’m doing something right."
While Everly is off learning ways to save our planet what does this mama do to decompress from her busy lifestyle? “I have learned the hard way about burning the candle at both ends. I try…before I get that feeling to go and have a spa day or a hike with friends. Or meditate. I know that sounds so boring, but that’s literally what I do!"
