Country singer Walker Hayes and his wife just revealed that they are mourning the death of their newborn daughter. Today shared the details about what happened to this family. On late Wednesday night, Walker went to his Instagram to share what happened to their little girl. Walker and his wife, Laney’s, baby daughter, Oakleigh Klover, passed away after being born at the hospital.
Walker shared the following statement on his Instagram and Twitter. Of course, fans reached out to him with their condolences.
“It is with great sadness that Laney and I share with you the news that our sweet Oakleigh Klover Hayes was born this morning at the hospital and now is safely in heaven. Thank you for honoring our privacy as we grieve.”
Walker Hayes had a few things coming up, but he has canceled all of them to be home with his family during this time. His career is doing great as his song You Broke Up With Me is a huge hit, but this shouldn’t slow down his career. Everyone understands him needing time to focus on his family right now.
This does mean that Walker Hayes won’t be at CMA Fest in Nashville this year. A lot of fans were looking forward to spending time with him and seeing him at the event. He is also missing the Kick’n Up Kountry music festival in Minnesota on Thursday, and at America’s River Festival in Iowa on Friday.
Walker and Laney’s daughter Oakleigh Klover Hayes joined their already large family that consists of three daughters and three sons, ranging from ages 2 to 11. They aren’t sharing the details about what happened to their little girl that caused her to lose her life shortly after being born.
Walker Hayes has made it very clear that he really enjoys being a father. Not long ago, he told People “They’re just kids, but them being proud of me means so much to me, and I can tell that they are. I love each and every one of these kids and I can’t wait for another one. They’re all so beautiful and incredible, and watching them grow is the best thing I get to do on earth.” It sounds like more children may be coming for Walker and Laney in the future.
Hopefully, Walker Hayes will be able to spend plenty of time with his family to mourn and then get back on the road when the time is right. Everyone will be patiently waiting for him to return.
