Joanna Gaines‘ baby shower had her guests’ noses in a book! The Fixer Upper star celebrated with a book-themed baby shower bash on Saturday, June, 9th.
In a picture the designer posted on her Instagram, Gaines is sitting on a life-sized stack of books with green, yellow and blue balloons. Wearing a fitted black dress paired with a lightweight printed shawl to complete the ensemble for her special day.
“I like big books and cannot lie,” wrote Gaines on her Instagram caption. “Blown away by the creativity and thoughtfulness of my friends — just the cutest book shower ever for baby Gaines. Feelin’ the love . . . now I Just need to figure out how to shove these books into my car so I can get them to the farm! #babygotbooks.”
Joanna, 40, and her Fixer Upper hubby Chip, 43, are already parents to their four kids; Drake, 13, Ella, 11, Duke, 9, and Emmie, 8.
Joanna wrote a blog post in April telling her readers that her children are so excited for their new sibling. She also revealed her fifth pregnancy “has been so fun,” thanks to her children’s enthusiasm.
“Since I had our first four babies so close to one another, none of them actually remember me being pregnant,” the Magnolia Table author revealed. “They love my growing belly (and boy is it growing) and they can’t wait to meet him.”
Joanna and Chip who have planted their roots in Waco, Texas were co-stars on the much successful HGTV show Fixer Upper from 2013-2018. The two as a couple decided to step down from their design throne making the announcement in September of 2017. A source at the time revealed, “They want to focus on raising their kids and being a family since their kids are getting older.”
So what’s the next chapter for Joanne and her family? She divulged in her blog that besides her baby boy a Magnolia kids store is in the works. “For us, this end of this final season makes the beginning of a new one,” she wrote in her April blog post. “If you would have told me that I’d end this season of the show pregnant with our fifth baby, I would’ve laughed. Like the entire Fixer Upper opportunity as a whole, life has a way of surprising us.”
