Hilary Duff doesn’t have to worry anymore that she may have another boy. The Lizzie McGuire actress was certain she would have another boy. But Duff got her wish, her very own little princess!
Hilary announced on Friday that she and her beau Matthew Koma, 31, are expecting their first child together.
Hilary spoke On Air Tuesday with Ryan Seacrest and admitted she wanted nothing else but to have a daughter of her own. The Younger actress is already a proud mom to her 6-year-old son Luca.
“I was so nervous beforehand because I thought for sure I was going to have a boy,” the 30-year-old actress and singer recalled of the time before learning her baby’s sex. “I have a boy already, which would’ve been great and I’m obsessed with Luca, but I don’t know, I just wanted one of each.”
“It was funny that I cared so much. My sister has girls and I feel like I’m really girly. But for the past six years I’ve bought monsters and trucks and planes and Luca’s into all the boy stuff, so everything’s blue and green and I was just ready for pink and purple stuff.”
The pregnant singer also gave Seacrest the details on her gender reveal bash that took place on Mother’s day. Hilary did admit it was “kind of childish,” but a total ball!
“It was the most fun day. “We had close family and friends over and you have to talk to the doctor before and then the doctor gives you the results … we ordered these really cute confetti cannons on Etsy. They look like smoke, but it’s powder and then some confetti. You twist them and you all stand there at the same time,” Hilary said. “It sounds so silly because it’s kind of childish, but it’s so exciting.”
Duff also sat down for an interview with James Corden and told the late show host that her son Luca is “warming up to the idea,” of having a little sister. Duff recalled, “the beginning was a little, a little a….he was surprised.”
Now that the shock has simmered down for Luca he’s certain that he has picked out the perfect name for his sister. Duff told Corden that her son wants to name her, ‘Cofant Croissant.’ The actress said, “we’re up for any suggestions.” Are you sure you’re up for any suggestions Hilary? You may want to rethink that one.
