Josh Brolin is well practiced when it comes to changing diapers and sleeping schedules. The actor, who is due to be a third-time father with his wife Kathryn Boyd, does admit he may be a little rusty. The couple is awaiting their first child together, a baby girl and he reveals he is ‘nervous’ but ‘excited’.
The 50-year-old actor told reporters at the Sicario: Day of the Soldado premiere in New York City, “I’m excited but nervous. I’ve been a parent for so long, since as long as I can remember basically." Brolin is a dad to his son Trevor, 30, and daughter Eden, 25, from his previous marriage to Alice Adair. Brolin went on to reveal, “I got out of high school, two years later we had a kid. So I don’t really know life without having kids."
Brolin gushed and went on to admit he is “massively looking forward to" meeting his baby girl.
In the meantime, he and his wife, of just over a year Kathryn, have been “spoiling each other plenty.”
“We’re going to take a lot of personal time after this and do a lot of personal things and just spend time germinating and focusing on this baby," he revealed. “We’re very, very happy."
Brolin told USA Today that he and Kathryn, 30, were actively trying to conceive but was surprised that it happened so fast. “We were trying. I just didn’t think it would happen so fast. We were both like, ‘What?!’"
The two have been tracking their baby girls development on a pregnancy app that they have downloaded on their phones. Josh revealed, “She’s starting to kick now. We can see all that movement. I am so happy about it, man."
The actor and his wife first announced they were expecting in May. Josh posted a picture via Instagram of Kathryn wearing a sports bra and leggings while showing off her bump. He captioned the photo, “There’s a new sheriff in town, and she’s no bigger than a sweet potato. Hang on to your hats."
