It’s Baby Number 3 for Elizabeth Smart and Husband Matthew Gilmour
Elizabeth Smart is Expecting!
The kidnapping survivor announced the joyous news on her Instagram Monday with an ultrasound pic. The 30-year-old expectant mama wrote alongside the post, “Pretty HUGE news!!!!! We’re expecting baby #3 in November!!!”
The victims’ rights activist and her husband Matthew are already proud parents to their two children 3-year-old daughter Chloe and 14-month-old son James.
Smart previously told People that what she cherishes most in life are her children and family. “My children have brought so much happiness and joy. To me, they’re the very definition of love,” she said.
Elizabeth keeps her fans up to date on her mom life, sharing posts of her two kiddos. In May, the activist shared a family shot of she and her family at the beach, a touching moment with her two children and hubby.
She attached a passage she had written admitting that the field work that she is in can be dark but has her family by her side to help brighten those dark days.
“For me, it is so important to find a balance in my life. It seems the world I live and work in is so dark,” she wrote. Smart continued by revealing she looks to her family for the balance. I find my balance when I’m able to spend time with my little family when I listen to my little Chloe whose biggest concern is when we can’t find her other “pony shoe.”
Smart went on to tell her followers that she also uses reading as a healthy escape from her heavy-hearted work. Fiction novels are Smart’s favored choice and the mom shared some of her favorite recent reads with her followers.
There is nothing so important in recovery as support. It’s finding the people who love you, care about you, and want the very best for you no matter what. Each of us will meet so many people in life, many of them will be kind, lovely people but at the end of the day you want to surround yourself with the ones who will stick by you. And you know you can lean on them, and they on you in return because we all experience pain in this life and we all deserve to be loved. For me these are the people that I care about most ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I am one of the lucky ones to have a kind and loving biological family. However not every family is made up of people who have similar DNA. Families can include friends, teachers, counselors, therapists, coworkers, basically anyone who you love, trust, and they have your back. #findyourfamily #whoreallycounts #support #supportiseverything #nevergiveup #miracleshappen #happiness #joy #love #safety #movingforward
Elizabeth is living a brighter and happier life which at one time was the furthest thing from her reality. Smart was kidnapped over 15 years ago from her bedroom on a summer night back in 2002. She was held captive by her kidnappers for nine months before being rescued.
Since the ordeal, Smart has dedicated her life to helping bring other kidnapped children back to their families, while also writing a book about her ordeal and is an inspirational speaker. Elizabeth is grateful for her life now saying, “Today, I’m so grateful for the small things. I feel like a very lucky and blessed woman.”
