Richard Gere is Reportedly Going to Be a Dad Again at the Age of 69
While most men at the age of 68 are planning on what they are going to do during their golden years, actor Richard Gere may be back on diaper duty. The Pretty Woman actor is reportedly going to be a father again.
According to Spanish outlet ABC, his wife Alejandra Silva is expecting their first child together. Richard Gere married the 35-year-old Spanish publicist back in April in a secret civil ceremony in Madrid. The two had been dating for four years prior to their nuptials.
Shortly after tying the knot in Spain, the two celebrated with their family and friends back in the U.S. at Gere’s home near New York. At the time, Gere said of his union with Silva, “I am the happiest man in the universe, how could I not be?”
Gere opened up to HOLA! in April about his relationship saying, “I have found the quiet and happy life that I have always sought.”
This is The Nights in Rodanthe actor’s third marriage. He’s most known for his marriage to supermodel Cindy Crawford who he was married to from 1991 to 1995. He later married Carey Lowell in 2002 until they finalized their divorce in October of 2016. Lowell and Gere share their 18-year-old son Homer together.
If Silva is, in fact, expecting this will be her second child as well. She shares her son Albert with her ex-husband Govind Friedland whom she was married to from 2012 to 2015.
Silva had opened up about her relationship with Gere admitting, “I was a little lost, without light, and knowing him gave meaning to my life,” she admitted in an interview. “It was feeling that someone was reaching out and showing me my true path.”
