Jessie James Decker Responds to Mom Shamers After Receiving Backlash For Drinking While Breastfeeding “I know I’m a Great Mother”
Jessie James Decker is finally speaking up after receiving backlash for posting a picture on her social media that showed the mama of three multitasking. In the picture, the singer was kicking back enjoying a glass of wine while breastfeeding her 5-month old son Forrest Bradley.
Decker was in New York during New York Fashion Week to debut her Spring 2019 line Kittenish. The 30-year-old fashion designer shared how she is often attacked for her mothering skills and how she feels that she not only has to often defend her parenting choices but wants to be the voice for all mamas out there.
“I honestly feel like I’m the voice of all the moms,” said Decker. “I definitely feel like they get heat for certain things. I know I’m a great mother, there’s not one doubt in my mind. I know that I take care of my babies, I know that they feel loved and they feel happy. I don’t have nannies; I take care of my children.”
“So if I want to have a cocktail to celebrate my husband doing something great in his work, I’m going to, and I can still breastfeed,” Decker went on to say.
Jessie James Decker who is also mama to son Eric Thomas Jr., 3 and daughter Vivianne Rose, 4 is a busy mom while like most mothers is also juggling work. The multi-talented star says, “I feel like I want to be a voice for those moms that feel heat from others, or feel judgment because this is a hard job, and if you want to enjoy yourself you do it.”

Another shot from the photo shoot I did for my book (Forrest was 8 weeks old)… I wrote quite a bit about being a mommy and the good times the hard times and the real times. One thing I found is we are all so much alike as women and mothers in the way that we feel and if we would just talk about it and share our feelings more we would find so much comfort in that! So it was very important to me to share as much information as I could as well as advice I had picked up along the way to share with my girls out there. Link in bio to pre-order my book! I really hope y’all enjoy it.
Decker also has learned along the way of mothering that it takes a village and feels it’s important that women support one another which is why she has the “we’re all in this together” mindset.
“I’ll talk to random moms that I meet at Gymboree and I’m like, ‘Hey, what’s going on with that? How do you do that?’ I’m always asking questions.”
Decker’s says her biggest wish to all the mothers out there is, “I just want all of us to feel like we’re in the same boat.”
