Get the moving van! Your favorite royal couple is moving to a new address. It’s been a whirlwind year for Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan.
The couple tied the knot in May and announced in October that they are expecting their first child together. The newlyweds also had their first royal tour as a married couple visiting Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga.
Now that Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, have returned from their royal duties the couple is in nesting mode and that includes a new residence. The couple has been graciously gifted a cottage from the Queen as a wedding gift. The Frogmore House is located on the Royal Windsor estate. The Queen gifted a cottage to William and Kate also when they married.
A source reveals the cottage is going through an extensive renovation for Prince Harry and Meghan’s lifestyle. “It is very old. It was five separate apartments where the palace staff has been living for years. Those will all be knocked into one. It was 20 rooms total, [including] ten bedrooms.”
Harry and Meghan are upsizing from their apartment at the Kensington Palace grounds where they have been residing. More space means the royal couple can personalize their home to their personal interests.
The royal source reveals, “The property does not have a gym or a yoga studio, but Harry and Meghan are planning to build an all-purpose space for gym and personal training use."
The source also reveals the cottage will have a nursery for Harry and Meghan’s bundle of joy on the way. But Harry and Meghan may have to wait a bit longer to move into their new home. The royal source reveals Harry and Meghan’s cottage most likely will not be move-in ready until early next Fall.
“While they’re really hoping to be moved into Frogmore in time for the birth, they’re also realistic … With the kind of delays these projects face and the limited amount of time they have, they’re mentally prepared to not be in the new house until autumn 2019."
And what the soon-to-be parents are really looking forward to is some privacy. Harry and Meghan’s top priority is raising their child in private away from the public eye. “They want their children to grow up in as normal an environment as possible," the source reveals.
